In the track, Porter is a constant traveler making her way from the West Coast to the East Coast and jetting off to Nashville, Tenn. Through her journey, she finds herself lonely and longing to get back to where she came from.
A true home is where the heart is mid-tempo ballad, but the fast-rising singer/songwriter couples the message of wanting to return to her roots with the nostalgic memories of a former love interest as she recalls her first love in the second verse, singing the words: “They’re swearing two states ain’t too far / Nothing breaks a teenage heart / Like leaving your first love.”
