Peytan Porter

Peytan Porter grew up in a tiny mountain town called Dawsonville, Georgia. Around the age of 12, she assumed the role of lone songbird in a family of basketball players. Through her love of singing, she found herself becoming a student of songwriting and ultimately set her sights on Nashville. In 2016, Peytan left her hometown and started school at Lipscomb University. There she worked her way into the Nashville songwriting community while pursuing a degree in public relations. She landed a songwriting internship at Sea Gayle Music where she cut her teeth writing with their impressive roster. During the summer of 2020 she was championed by friend Nina Jenkins, creative director at Jody Williams Songs, that led to the company offering Peytan her first publishing deal. “Peytan has an infectious spirit that undoubtedly translates into her songwriting. She tells her stories with heart and a perspective all her own” says Jenkins. ”It’s going to be an honor to help Peytan realize her goals as a songwriter and artist. She definitely has the gift!” says founder Jody Williams.
